Does anybody know which course would be preferred or seem better?

NCFE Level 3 Certificate Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
or
CACHE Level 3 Award Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

However the NCFE is changing to ABC, but I don't think this makes much difference except the awarding body name?

Both courses are recognised in schools but as Caroline says NCFE are much better learning modules to get the grips of the main topic, good luck with it

After I completed the Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF), I used the qualification to get me a placement at a school in order to complete the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF). I have just completed the Certificate and now enrolled onto the Diploma. The Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is only 33% of the old NVQ level 3. The diploma QCF is the equivalent to NVQ level 3.

For the Certificate, I only had to do 7 out of the 11 units, 4 units were a credit transfer from the award. For the Diploma, I only have to do 4 units out of the 15 units, 11 units are a credit transfer from the Award and Certificate. I completed the qualification in stages due to working full time in early years.

Award completed - May 2014
Certificate completed - April 2015
Diploma - Target date Sept 2015

You would have to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning in Schools to be a fully qualified level 3 TA.  Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF) is mainly aimed at Lunch Support staff etc.
