Hi Leanne. I'm slowly plodding through as I think depends how quick you understand everything. There is a lot to take in. Maybe spend 2-3 hours a day it depends how you feel really. Take a break though in between to recap over what you have been reading. How are you finding it?

I'm finding really good and a lot is covered than I expected I think. My sister is a head VN and clinical coach so a lot of the bits I am familiar with just from conversations and following her training a while ago and I worked as a groomer prior to this so some of the bits I'm already kind of ok with. I'm doing this course to fill time to be honest between now and my vet nurse course which I can't do til next year and I know a lot of the bits are duplicated just in more depth so I'm pleased it's gonna give me the head start I need!

What about you?

Hi Leanne. Good Luck with your future prospects. Having your sisters knowledge is helpful. Ive got as far as assignment 3. As I said before I'm slowly plodding through, science stuff not my strong point lol. I recently completed the Animal Care course with a Distinction which I'm really pleased about. I think being a pet owner in the past helped with knowledge of that. I'm also doing Business Finance course which is changeling as well. Is this the first course you done through Stonebridge? Becky

Morning Becky, yeah it's the first one I've done. I intended gin straight onto the VN course but the timings didn't work out. My youngest daughter goes to nursery in September so I wanted to aim around then but things didn't go to plan! I bet the finance course is a bit more in depth too, doin the 2 together must be interesting! Are they to help in any field in particular?

Hi Leanne. Hope u ok. Yes the business finance course is a challenge. I did accounts as an option at school (many years ago lol), left school done typing course and was an office junior which I ended up being secretary to 4 directors of a company, so had some sort of business experience. My kids grown up now and my last job ended in jan last year as I started having health issues. So late last year I decided to do the Animal care course, it was easy going, fun and I just needed something to get my brain going, now doing Vn course as a continuation but also thought I'd do BF course. I may consider VN work when I'm ready to go back to work or may consider an office job. Do you think you might do some other courses? Becky

Yeah I'm loving the course at the moment, I agree about 2-3 hours per assignment is a good amount of time, it's so interesting there's a lot I didn't know and I'm so glad I done it,
I want to go in to a veterinary nurse course also son its good to get an insight x

Morning! As for other courses, I'm not sure but only because once I've done this I intend doin the one day placement route vet nurse course so won't really have time with job, course and kids/pets! I haven't yet got any other books but found the list on here that the college gave so will be having a look at that and see which ones look the best/most useful. My daughter is off with the mother in law today so I'll be usin the quiet time to do assignment 3 I think! Lea x

Hi. So you having a bit of you time today, even if you get couple hours study in all counts. I did buy Introduction to Veterinary animal physiology textbook but to be honest I've got it for sale on ebay, ( didn't feel that was for me). Been looking into maybe getting one of the others. My library don't even have any of those books the college suggested which is a shame. Just wondering if you want we can exchange numbers and text if you don't fancy keep messaging on here? Becky

Hi, I don't seem to be getting notifications on this thread even though I have selected it. so far I haven't been using any books. Just been spending a few hours searching on several sites over the Internet and then gathering all info together and writing out my assignments in my own words. I print out diagrams etc to help me remember things and keeps this in my 'revision folder' particularly things to do with the anatomy as it's easier for me to look at diagrams rather than reading through loads of stuff for a quick reminder of where such and such is located etc. If any of you want to add me on facebook you are welcome to do so. Search for Beckie Cowling (I do believe I'm the only one :) so shouldn't be too hard to find profile pic is of me and my sisters.)
