Hello I am on this course also.
Doing it online along side work getting a head start over the summer break, well thats the idea!
Just been working my way through the Assignment 1.Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults.
Does anyone find the answers quite repetitive?
Just a little worried, as I feel like I am saying the same thing all the time. I did the tasks first and have been using the book the they suggested, so fingers crossed.
I have emailed waiting to hear from them about how many times you can submit your answers for feed back? have either of you submitted anything yet?

They have got back to me. You can submit as meny times as possible to pass. You only get feedback if you get an answer wrong and then you can keep re-submitting until it correct. I started last month but I haven't been doing it constantly, how about you?

I started about 3 weeks ago and like you haven't done it constantly. Have started to answer the questions to submit. At least you can keep submitting until correct takes the pressure of a bit!

Im struggling too.  Im on unit 7 and struggling on how to fill sessions  sheets in. If anyone has one I can see as an example on how they filled it in it would be great. I just cant get my head round it as working in a special needs school and classes are really small and all children are at least one to one. ahhhh brain is broken !!!!

I'm in the same boat as you.. Unit 7, theory all done but can not get my head around the session record sheets. Did you manage to complete them in the end? Struggling to do session sheets on demonstrating equality, diversity etc when it is all just second nature.

I found it best to just pick a lesson you have done or participated in, or even something you have seen and maybe had to deal with and in the content and summary section write about it as if you were telling someone what happened from beginning to end, I have wrote some like a story and some bullet points and both passed.

Then in the next section link these to the actual question if you can, say how you have helped the children in the activity.
Engage in personal development in children:- praising them, encouraging words, use of props to help practice etc
Support children and young people health & safety:- helping them to be aware of safety for themselves, don't swing on chairs but tell them why, or ask them why?, No running as you could hurt yourself etc
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in work:- how you catered to all needs and abilities.
Support learning activities: encouraging them to try, helping them recognise where they have gone wrong instead of just telling them
Promote children’s and young people’s positive behaviour:- encouraging good behaviour, being a role model, praising good manners and behaviour. DO you use rewards etc
Support assessment for learning:- checking their understanding, observations, keeping notes of how they do, feeding back to teacher.

Then in the last section reflective practice:
How did the activity go overall? - How did you think it went, its your own opinion they want
What went particularly well? what did you think was the best bit
What went not so well? What do you think was the worst bit
What would you do differently next time? Think how you could change something to make it better
What feedback or actions did your mentor give or suggest to you? I usually just put something like the teacher thanked me for my assistance or said I was a big helrp and activity went well etc

Make sure when you fill these sheets in, you use 'I' a lot, I did this, I said this, I helped, I encouraged, I supported, I checked, I was aware etc.

I really didn't have a clue and still stress about them now but rarely have anything fed back that I need to change even though I still feel like I am finding my way even though I am nearly finished.

If you need any help on specific ones, I am happy to give you some examples of what I did for mine.

Hope this helps and good luck

Lisa

Hi
I’m really struggling with unit 7 and the session sheets , I have written them up , and sent a rough draft to my assessor but I find her feed back so vague . Could you help at all , I’m so stressed - I could just give up to be honest .
This is her feed back , I don’t understand what she means by answer question on two session sheets .
Thank you

What year do you work in and what were your activities? What did you write about in each section? I am in EYFS and wrote about Chinese New year, Making a Goodbye card, learning about Spring, new life and Easter and a dinosaur activity where we provided different food for allergy sufferers so were inclusive. I did these on 4 seperate session sheets, in the first section I talked about what the activity was and what I did, I did this step by step and was specific in what I said and what the children said, then in the next section I explained how this activity helped them for each of the boxes. SO for example, Health and safety - I didn't just stop them swinging on chairs or running, I explained why they shouldn't do it or asked them why etc. If you want to message me with details of yours I will see if I can help come up with how to word it to cover the areas as I have quite a bit of practice with these now.

I know this is from a year ago, I have just started this course and need some help.
I feel like its taken me ages to answer the questions on unit one. I'm on question 9 and feel that I cant answer without copying word for word what's in the books. anyone else felt like this? I don't know whether I'm doing this right. do we get a tutor to ask?

It’s very hard to summarise when there’s not much to summerize. I’ve submitted it so I will see what they say...I’m hoping the feed back will help me to improve it. Thank you for replying xx
