TA CACHE level 3 session sheets.

Hi, I'm completing a CACHE level 3 TA course and currently on assignment 13, supporting assessment for learning. I am really struggling with the session sheets, I find them very generic, repetitive and time consuming having to ask my mentor to check and sign each one. Also, I do not understand why certain questions ask for multiple session sheets, do I need to give different scenarios on each one? Any advice you could give would be most welcome.

Hi k8toole, I am currently on assignment 13, supporting assessment for learning and I am struggling to do it. Saw your message above and wondered if you managed to pass it. If you PASSed it can you please share the ideas of how did you do it as it looks so repetitive to the others previously done.

Hi Linda, I still find these sessions sheets a nuisance. It's worth bearing in mind you can use the same examples (modified to suit the question) in other assignments although I've rarely done this myself.
For #13 I used examples of lessons where I helped the children with an activity (I used guided reading for one) reminded them of set goals, asked them relevant questions to check their understanding, gave feedback and encouragement etc. Set it out as though you're telling a story giving as much information as possible, say what activity they were doing, what happened and what the outcomes were (remember confidentiality using just the children's initials).
Give a time when you assessed children and gave feedback to the teacher, these are probably all things you do daily without even realising.
I find it really useful to keep a daily log/diary too.
Good luck :)

Hi Linda, your reply is showing in my emails but not on here.
I did pass thanks, I've just started assignment 22.
Yes it probably is something we've already covered, I also find it very repetitive which is frustrating.
Best of luck.
Kate.

Or did I receive your message late maybe! Anyway, I am glad for you and wish you best of luck on all your assignments.
