This may sound ridiculous but do we just read the text from the course book and complete the assessment provided after each lesson or do we have to complete the activities that are featured in the book also? If so how do we provide evidence of this? feeling overwhelmed!

Hi . It is confusing. I take each question individually, read the relevant section in the book and start writing the answer. I add anything extra from research on internet and pull from own experience in school. I don't do all the Case studies or activities in the book.

In reply to Sarah-May, I ended up writing 4000 words for Unit 1. I had to add extra to a couple of questions before it was passed.  Hope that helps.

Hi, I've just started too.  I haven't studied for about 25 years and don't work in a teaching setting yet (will be starting with voluntary work next year), when I first looked at the course I too was a bit overwhelmed.  I have read the first lesson and when it comes to the assignment, as Tsui Yen has said, I'm just going to take each question at a time and read back through my notes etc.  Good luck everyone.

Hi Im starting the second assignment today, I read the relevant chapter then complete the questions. I did find it confusing on my first assignment and I look up further research on the internet. The government page is really useful.
I am stressing about the Units that need to be assessed in the workplace. Im cant find where to get the information from to see what I need to do, for example on the page it just says TDA 3.3 assessment criteria 1.3,1.4,1.5,2.1............... does anyone know where I can find this criteria in the book?? Also do we make a journal every day were at our placement or just when it says to on the assessment criteria?

Just noticed its logged in on my husbands fb account ooopppsss

regards

Lisa.

Hi I recently started on this course and half way through my first assignment. I've found it all overwhelming to be honest to the point I nearly decided I had chosen the wrong course. I had read that I needed a placement for 50 hours but didn't realise it needed to be set up for the start of the course. I am currently trying desperately to find a placement.
Has everybody else got their placements sorted and how are finding the portfolio tasks. They seem quite daunting to me.
Also in the textbook there are ́knowledge into action ́ ́reflect ́ and ́functional skills ́ tasks, are you meant to evidence these as well and if so do I send in with each assignment or with my portfolio?

Sorry for the essay, it's been ten years since I was at uni and its like starting all over again
