Hi Sharon. I started this course last month and have just had Assignment 1 passed. I found it hard getting back into studying for 5a I just explained that schools have policies and procedures so that staff, pupils all overs connected to the school have a clear set of rules/ guidelines to work from to ensure the school runs to its best ability obviously in a  bit more depth and explained that specialist support worker ie SEN all follow the correct policies for that department. i hope that helps. x

Hi Sharon.  For 5a, I wrote about how policies give a framework for all to follow - written clearly, informative and staff, governors, parents can understand. Talked about guidelines, expected standards and consequences .
I then gave examples of my placement school policies: Fire procedure, Anti-bullying, Music, Equality etc and depending on the policy I  mentioned  where they are kept in school, who updates them, how often they are updated, what is included in the polices,  etc.

Hi. I wrote a paragraph about expectations of the policies.
Eg. Staff : I listed Pay, Performance, Grievance and Professional Development and explained how staff are aware of expectations, procedures, by whom and when and how to progress career etc.
