Security Management Advanced course complaint

I started it but after being given very little resources and poor communication decided not to carry on. This course is american and has not been properly adapted. Stonebridge are the worst college I have come across. I could have read a book myself and gained the same knowledge. The award is not recognised as a qualification either and I felt that upon my first assignment being marked the feedback I received was probably the same as everyone else.

Hi Debbie,

I’m sorry to see you weren’t satisfied with your course and decided not to carry on with it. First, I’d like to assure you that the Security Management Advanced course is not American. It was written here in Britain for distance learning students worldwide.

This course is a Level 4 award course. It is not meant to be a university degree course. As our website states:

“At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all the units you have completed as part of your course). The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme. This means that Stonebridge Associated Colleges have undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet certain quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The unit summary can be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 4 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of difficulty involved in successful completion by the learner.”

Regarding your tutor feedback, while we do have response templates for quality control purposes that tutors may choose to use, students do not receive the same feedback as everyone else. Our tutors individually mark each and every assignment from our students. Additionally, our internal moderators check each feedback form to ensure the tutors have given due care in their markings.

We have no time limits or deadlines on our courses, so should you decide to complete your course at any point you may do so. Additionally, if you would prefer to transfer to a different course you may request to do so.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly on 01288 356300 if you wish to discuss this further.

Along with the books or researching, I think you can start again. Each Course everywhere needs your own thoughts and studying, as well. Good Luck, Debbie as YOU wish!
