I am so confused.
So many problems!
1 -  Looking through the posts with similar titles it feels like people have different questions to me!
2 - im not employed in school, I only volunteer for 2 hrs a week. i dont have a job description, formal outline of what i do, etc
3 - i cant seem to get in touch with my tutor, i keep ending up a central help desk who have nothing useful to impart... beyond the actual assignments what else do i need to submit? do i need to submit all the reflective journals? what actually needs to be in the 'portfolio'?
4 - is there a way to search in the forum for people who are doing the same course as me?

Hi. Just quit the college, as they want only your money and not helpful at all.

I finally got through I dont know if you have the same tutor as I do as I am studying SEN adv., my advise is to call them and ask for the name and e-mail address for this course. Hope that helps.

I am only on assignment 4 & resubmitting 1 question on 3rd assignment so can't help with what you need, I will be asking my tutor as I honestly don't have any idea what I need to do for that and think we should have received a lot more information and guidance when we started the course as I feel like I have had to find my own way around pretty much.

I find my tutor quite helpful when I ask her things, she does take a long time to respond which is frustrating but when she does, her answers are usually quite thorough and she will include links she thinks will help me. Maybe ask if you can change tutor as they are there to provide support throughout the course and doesn't sound like you are getting much help and I think its only going to get harder.

Personally I think 2 hours a week wouldn't really be enough to be able to gain all the experience you need to do the course, any chance you can increase it, even temporarily? I have just completed level 2 and although I could answer most things without needing to be in a school, being able to put it all in practice made such a huge difference and I am only volunteering 1 day a week. I do ask if I can go in on other days sometimes and have done a full week recently, so I can get a better feel of how things are run and make sure I participate in different aspects and follow how things work from 1 day to the next, otherwise I don't feel like I would be able to just walk into a different school as a TA once I have completed the course as I would be limited in what I can do - If that makes sense.

There are some Facebook groups you can join that people post questions/advice on and usually get more replies than on here or you can add connections on Pearl, they are all doing the same course as you and you could message them for advice.

Hope you get sorted.
