Hello! I imagine you have now finished the course and moved on, but I have just started! Would be great to connect and hear about how it was worked out for you and if you have tips? Thanks again. Emily

Hi Emily

Actually I've only got as far as assignment 10!  I'm also on a training course through my work and now with the Coronavirus situation, I've not had a lot of time to devote to this.

I think it would have been good to have had some actual tutorial sessions by video as just reading pages of text gets a bit dry after a while.  Also some interaction with groups of students would have been helpful.  Some of the later assignments ask for you to imagine a counselling scenario and then analyse it which I found a bit odd, since there is no real challenge there.  I would have preferred Stonebridge to set the scenario and then ask the student to describe how they would deal with it as a coach/counsellor.  The feedback you get from tutors is very brief and there doesn't seem to be any developmental stuff in there.

So all in all, although I think it's interesting to study the techniques, I think the way the course is designed makes it difficult to experience real life scenarios and so largely becomes just theoretical.

Hope this helps - let me know what you think so far.

Best wishes

Elaine
