not really. I asked if they could send me a mock session form filled in so I  could have an idea of what to write in each.  I was told no basically saying they couldnt show me what another students sheet. Thats not what I asked for but never mind. They said to put in what was said to pupil and what replies were etc etc.I have just finished them and after school hols getting mentor at school to sign them. i have just put a bit in each section.  If theyre wrong at least will have an idea of how to correct it off tutor hopefully. Repetitive I thought. Ive just guessed. I bet in a college they would have had a run through what goes where on sheet.
I really struggled and still dont know if its right.

no problem. I started on next unit for a few days as it was giving me sleepless nights worrying about it, then went back to it and just said right what do I think goes in there. eg  What i said to pupil to encourage and then put what they relied, how i contributed to helping pupil to be part of the class making sure i didn't over help for them to be able to help themselves. The children i am working with all have hearing impairment so alot of signing, visual impairment, cerebral palsy wheelchair user and autism. Ask at your placement for them to put you in a situation where you can experience the questions. It could be something as simple as reading a book, to you helping a child during playtime. How you encouraged them how did they react what would you do better next time, just remember when filling sheet in the emphasis is on the question asked.
hope this helps and doesn't confuse more
This is what I did then got someone to read it (a friend) and asked it they thought it read okay.

Hiya, did anybody get any feedback from this unit? I too am struggling. I think I have completed the theory bit but its the session sheets that's holding me back; especially those related to Q2 as it seems hard to complete regarding something that is just 2nd nature x

struggling myself with section 7. The question reads as if we need to prove what we have done to not discriminate against the pupils however my tutor has advised me that I need to show what lessons have been held for the children to learn not to discriminate.
I'm totally stuck as I have not participated in any lessons like this.
any help would be appreciated. thank you

Hi, sorry to jump on your thread.

My head is battered with this too, I have no idea what is expected of us.

Do we need to provide evidence alongside it.
What sort of things would count?
I am thinking Chinese New year for one of them.
Each question asks for 2 session sheets, can I combine them or do I need to find a seperate topic for each?
No idea how to actually fill them in as in what info is needed, is it just me telling what the activity involved and giving a breakdown?

Hope someone can give some advice as seen loads of questions about this but no firm replies.

Many Thanks

Lisa

I’m stuck too, zero support available which is driving me insane. I have submitted and it’s been referred as to demonstrate examples and how we don’t discriminate! We just don’t! Just unsure how to word that. Feel like does that mean I have to do new session sheets or is it just adding to the ones already sent

I have just started this unit too and I have no idea either. I'm going to ask my tutor what is required for the session sheets . She is normally very helpful so I will let you know what is said. I would imagine you can just add to the session sheets you have already done if it was just missing certain criteria.

I messaged my tutor and administration when I didn't get a reply after a week and finally got a reply with an attachment. I will add the info I received below. I am still unsure though so have messaged back asking for ideas as I am in a small Catholic school that is mainly white British and I am in EYFS so not a lot of structured lessons that would include what we need, plus I am only in 1 day a week and will miss most activities we do. I am starting to worry I might need to change schools or at least the year that I am in to be able to meet the criteria.

Hope this helps someone

Lisa

The session sheets enable you to demonstrate how you are applying the theoretical knowledge to practice. These will reflect an activity provided, or a situation you will have been part of. For example you may record something that was unexpected such as a behaviour episode.

I have attached an advice sheet that I give to learners to help them with these sheets. Your examples listed link well to the unit identified, just make sure when writing the sheets you pay attention to the individual criteria, so that you tailor the content to that. These sheets do need to be detailed, however you can use session sheets for numerous units, so you can use one from unit 7 in another unit, providing it fits. That said, you cannot detail the same activity twice within the same criteria, they need to be different activities/situations. So if asked to include three sheets to....... these should be three separate instances.

Attachment off my tutor

Session Record Tips!

Activity box

Detail the activity - what did you do from start to finish? How did the children react? Imagine you are telling someone about the activity step by step, so they could implement the activity themselves.

Be factual here. For example, "Today I asked the children to sit on the mat in a circle. Whilst sitting down the children............. I gathered a range of resources, including.......... I then........... The children ............. One child said “.............” I then asked the children ........ We explored.........."

 Individual boxes - table

In these boxes, explain how the activity meets the criteria. You need to demonstrate your understanding here. So, you will justify your activity/methods. Tell me how it links to a particular area of learning/how it shows that you can perform a certain skill in line with policy, frameworks etc (whatever the criteria is, you will link your points to)

 Reflective journal

Here you need to show that you have reflected on the session/activity provided. This need to be a detailed reflection (minimum of 175 words). When explaining that something went well or not so well, consider the ‘why’ question. Additionally, consider what evidence there is to prove this. For example, if you stated that the activity went well because ‘the children enjoyed it’ – consider why they might have enjoyed it. How do you know that they enjoyed it? What evidence is there to suggest this – did they smile, engage?
