I have just recently enrolled on the Dressmaking & Fashion Design Course Level 3 and I must say what I have seen so far has impressed me. The learning material is straight forward to read and understand. The assignments make you explore new options and try different things. I am really enjoying preparing my first 4 assignments. I sure hope the rest of my modules are this enjoyable, which I feel they will be.

Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to try a course and study at home.

Hi. I have been enrolled with Stonebridge for over 2 years and have only just found this site!

A bit of history, I started looking for courses etc a few years ago because I was a stay at home mum and wanted to do something for myself.
The thing that drew me to Stonebridge was the very competitive prices.
At the time, I was very interested in a career in family support/social work so I enrolled on the NCFE level 4 Social Care with Children and Families course and really enjoyed it.
The course material arrived quickly and was easy to understand and work through. Very soon after enrolling on the course, I found a job as an SEN TA, and loved it! I knew instantly that that is what I wanted to do, but felt that what I'd learn through the social care course would still be beneficial to me.
It took me 2.5 yrs to complete the course just because I was travelling for 4 hours a day to and from work so had very little time or motivation to work when I got home.
Anyway, the college were very good at allowing me to take a 6 month break and I completed the course a few months ago.
I enrolled on the CACHE level 3 supporting teaching and learning in schools not long after completing the first course.

I was a bit confused as to the difference between NCFE and CACHE and do feel it could be made clearer that the NCFE courses don't appear on the NQF.

Also, regarding the CACHE level 3, as I was reading the infor about it on the stonebridge website, I was lead to believe that I could study paper-based method, even when I paid, the site asked me to confirm which method of study I wanted, so when I received a letter telling me I was free to login to the website to access my course, I was quite disappointed I'd been mislead, but spoke to someone at the college who said it would be looked into.

I found the laserlearning website very confusing at first and didn't really understand what I was supposed to do, but I contacted the college who then took my details and arranged for someone to call me at 7pm to talk me through navigation.

Other than that, I am very happy studying with this college and staff have always been polite and helpful when I have called or e-mailed for whatever reason.
I have recommended Stonebridge to a friend of mine who is thinking of studying.

I'm hoping that by the time I have finished the CACHE, that Stonebridge would have added the level 3 certificate so I can extend on the work that I am doing for the award.

Hi! i have been enrolled with the college for a paper-based reflexology course, after i was inspired by a therapist, for probably over a year now and i have to say that its been brilliant working with the college.
Everything is really simple and easy to follow and i am really loving this. Honestly, all the new discoveries i make through the learning materials, about the human body really excite and amaze me. Awesome!!!!
Whats more is that, there are NO TIME LIMITS (which i really need, because i am slow in absorbing the knowledge at times, and i have other things to do)!!!
Overall, the assignments and the layout in everything the college has provided is fantastic. So far, there has been no experience of problems or struggles, regarding the course and the college, and hopefully, there will be none. All in all, IM LOVIN THIS!!!!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT STONEBRIDGE COLLEGE!!!!
AND A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO MY TUTOR!!! :):):) Xxx

SO far so good. I started a child pyschology 4 course and used my summer hols to read. On unit 4 and love it. I think the feedback comes back quickly with good clear comments.
I throughly enjoy the fact that I don't need to rush it. I explore each unit throughly therefore getting a great and broad understanding. Thank you Natasha for being a good tutor....

I have just signed up for the Wedding Planner and events management course, so will let you know.

What I am impressed with is the prices of the courses, the low cost deposits, the low cost monthly payments and the £30 cashback on the paper course. Even better is the august discount code as well. Brilliant! I am very excited :)

I am about half way through my level 4 massage course.
I am finding the course very interesting and informative, the part i love most is that I hated school, this course allows me to 'live' outside and still participate in a learning program that will no doubt enhance those around me and myself when I have finished the course.
I also love that I can pay in installments, which makes the course not only affordable, but do able, removing the biggest barrier, cash.
I have nothing but praise for Stonebridge, thank you :-)

Hi Jill,
We are not on the same course, but may I suggest :
The advantages of structured observation are:
Data is reliable and easy to collect
It is cost effective and several can be run simultaneously
Ethical considerations should already have been taken into account

The disadvantages of structured observation are:
The data collected may be shallow
There is no way of noting any unusual happenings as recording methods have already been pre-determined

I've recently enrolled on the Mindfulness and Life Coaching course and so far, I'm really enjoying it. I've done my first assignment and had it assessed, happily passed that I appreciated the feedback too. It was good to have my assessors name.

I'm currently reading books to support the course before I tackle my second assignment, these aren't compulsory, but I like to immerse myself in a subject, so really helpful to have further reading recommendations.

Hopefully will get on with my second assignment this weekend! I have that wonderful childish anticipation of renewed learning and energy.

I'm studying Environmental Management and, while I find the online course material a bit too basic, I'm finding it useful to carry out research elsewhere to answer the assignment questions.

I don't know if that's what we are expected to do, as I've not found any guidance on the expecations of us to use just the course material or incorporate other reasearch.

I don't really feel I would be learning anything from the course material alone, but I'm getting a lot from the course because I'm putting the effort in to find more information in order to present balanced considerations.

I'd be interested to know what Stonebridge's thoughts are on this - should the materials alone be enough? Seems to me that they should be. Would a hard copy course give more material than the online course?

Hi Claire
I completed this course earlier this year.
You really won't need any other books other than the course material the college supply you with.

Good luck with it. I found it really interesting and really enjoyed it

I have done animal care and veterinary nursing support assistant with stonebridge colleges, i have experienced great learning with these courses, great knowledge and understanding about the animal industry and hope to further my career in this. I loved both courses, i thought they were fully detailed about each section. I would recommend these courses to anyone.
