Hi, I'm currently studying the foot health course and have just submitted Assignment 1. Module 1 was a BIG module - so interesting and very challenging. I'm most definitely moving on to the next module with more confidence and enthusiasm from what I've learnt in module 1. If there is anyone in the early stages of the course, please say Hi ( or message me in e-pearl). Would love to keep in touch with fellow students who might be tackling the practical at the same time as me!

How are you getting on with the course Lisa? I enrolled on the fast track a few weeks back and still on module 1. I am going to attempt the questions this weekend.

Don't worry about it just keep working through the modules. I'm sure it will come together for you. I've just completed Unit 9 and have completed my practical in Birmingham which was fabulous you'll love it.

Looking forward to doing the practical but couldn't get on until October and am worried I will have forgotten everything by then! Where did you stay and have you started working now? Allyson

I stayed in The Premier Inn 6mins walk. There is also an Ibis Styles up the road from there. Another girl stayed there. If you contact Kay at Stonebridge she will give you a list. No, you will not have forgotten. I've not started we are all just finishing Unit 10 as you need the practical to upload to UNit 10 . All is coming together now though :-)

Keep going . I thought I would never remember everything, but my little brain seems to have sorted a system out for itself and amazingly I am in control :-)

Hi everyone,
I am doing the fast track course and expect to be going to Bude in June for my practical. I am finding it harder than I expected to learn all that is needed; how are you all getting on?

Hi everyone ☺️ I started the advanced fast track FHP course at the beginning of this month and just started module 4. I agree the modules are big - so much to take in!! Really enjoying it though... would be nice to talk with you all to see how you are getting on and when your taking your practical (scary stuff!) Sophie

Hi Sophie
Module 4?! - you're doing really well! I started two weeks ago and am still trying hard to absorb all of Module 1! I don't want to move on to 2 until I know it inside out. Am struggling to retain everything to be honest - perhaps it's my age! Lisa

Hi Lisa, are you doing the fast track too? I'm not. There is a LOT to take in in module1 isn't there! I had to keep writing it out and drawing diagrams to help embed it . I'm on module 2 now and looking at main arteries in the lower limb (cue rabbit in the headlights look!) .

Hi Lisa - thanks for replying. I worked as a veterinary nurse for 6 years and have found that a lot of the anatomy and terminology is the same, of not very similar. Perhaps that's why, although now I feel like I may be rushing it! So much to learn.. I've struggled the most with learning all of the bones/muscles in the leg/foot, there are SO many! I have ordered a large poster for my kitchen... how often are you studying? Have you used the tutor support yet? Sophie

Hi Sophie, I agree, I struggled with bones/muscles too and now I'm adding arteries and veins to that list! It really is another language to me as I worked in education for 16 years! I might look at posters myself. I'm hoping the reading as well as countless YouTube videos will help embed the names and locations in my head!

Hi ladies, I'm doing the Fast Track (bad move?). I was a medical secretary years ago so some of the terminology is familiar but how the hell as you supposed to pronounce some of them? Let's hope we don't have to! I'm just reading at the moment but not really sinking in. You Tube and posters sound like a good idea, I'll look into that! I have help from a good friend whose been in the business for 10 years, so that's helpful but she too had studied Anatomy and Reflexology before so was on step ahead. It's all new to me. Feels like it'll be a year before I feel ready to do the Practicsk, yikes!!

As much as I'm trying to remember everything, I'm not sure if it's possible?! I'm hoping a lot of the information is there to refer back to as and when, but could be wishful thinking?! Hi Elaine, the lady at the college provisionally booked me in for practical end of March, but I think I will be pushing it back! ! At the moment I'm studying for a few hours every other evening to prevent frazzling of the brain lol. Sophie

Sophie do not beat yourself up about knowing everything as it will all come together so keep working through the modules . As long as you have some knowledge.

Its lovely to meet others doing the course - thanks for saying hi.
I don't think the Fast track is a bad move. It must be designed to enable you to absorb the info quickly. I've not done any studying for 20 years so its taking a while to get my brain focussed so the longer route is better for me. Saying that though, initially I hoped to speed through the modules and be doing the practical by summer but I'm thinking that might be a little optimistic now.
Sophie, did you have to produce a 5 minute video in module 2? I've seen one of my assignments for module 2 is demonstrating where the pulses are on the body (or maybe just the one on the feet). A video seems daunting lol

Hey Nicola, I did pulses of the foot in unit 3. With the fast track you have the literature and once you've finished studying you take a multiple answer test and move on to the next one. No videos, however I did watch several on YouTube which were useful :)

Hi ladies. Ive submitted the 1st module, now working on the 2nd one. it's a lot more intense than I was expecting ( prob doesn't help ive not studied in 30 years). never gonna retain all these big words, noidea what they mean !

Hi Paul. I'm waiting for all the info to arrive as only just enrolled. Are you doing the fast track? I opted for the normal course (advanced) as thought it would be less intense but not sure if there is much of a difference. What do you think?

Hi Maria. I'm doing the regular course. ive done 1 module and on the 2nd. TBH ive found it quite hard, but i have NO medical training at all. never seen words that are so long. I printed up the question paper and worked through the module and got the answers, other wise wouldn't be able to do it ! now I regret wagging school when I was younger !!

Thanks Paul. Nice to meet you. I'm sure you'll be fine, you'll get into the swing of it soon. I'm a bit nervous waiting to get all the stuff through but looking forward to it too. Its great to know others like yourself are just starting it too. Hopefully we can all encourage each other through it!

Nice to hear from you Paul and Maria. I'm doing the Diploma version - RQF Level 3? There were so many course options available but I'm happy. It really is challenging! I'm currently trying to decipher arteries of the lower limb! I've had a look at the assignment for this module and there are a lot of words required and a video! eeek!
ps...I can't quite work out the 'connections' section of PEARL as I can't find Sophie, Lisa or Elaine on there. Its a shame this isn't integrated in some way.

I think Pearl is the Funding part of the course. I chose the Fast Track as it was the cheapest option and there didn't seem to be difference in the end achievement but maybe I'm wrong?

Many thanks Maggie
