I am about half way through the fashion design and dressmaking course. I would like to chat to anyone else who is doing this course. Maybe we could swap ideas and help each other?
U have a curved edge that u have to sew to a straight edge. The trick is to stitch a line of stay stitching along the edge of the straight piece of pattern at the 1.5 cm seam allowance mark right where u intend to join and then snip at regular intervals to the stitching. But not through, where stay stitching. Is. This allows you to stretch the straight edge to fit the curved edge.
I sent all my assignments to the college by post as I found scanning diud not show the detail. Stick the fabric samples of construction technics to the paper assignment sheets provided . I used a pritt stick. Just be careful because it can get a bit messy and you don't want to ruin all your hard work! I photocopied the sheets and then stuck my samples to the photocopies. I did this because some of the sheets are double sided and this makes sticking more difficult. If the sheets are individually photocopied it makes it much easier.
