Does anyone else find ePearl laborious?

I enrolled last week for Level 3 Teaching Assistant course as paper based as it is easier for reading, making notes and having the material easy to hand for completing assignments and, what's more, have the information for after the course is completed to refer to. I've paid with a 24+ loan and am told that for the £1250 fee it is online only. However I can't believe ePearl is designed without an easy print facility!!!! I have rung and asked them and they said nope, that's right no print facility, but you can copy and paste!!! So - most of this week I have been copying and pasting all of Unit 1 material and assignment questions to work through. It's taken me hours and hours. If I have to do this for all the course I'm either chucking my computer out the window or giving up.

I can't help feeling cheated. I enrolled for paper based and not got what I asked for - the Stonebridge site clearly shows paper based as available. They are being paid a lot of money for which I am doing a lot of their work.

Has anyone managed to switch successfully to paper based? If so, is it less laborious and fiddly? It must be: read assignment questions, read material, highlight, make notes, type up assignments, email or submit online - job done. A piece of work that should have taken me around 2 hours has taken around 10.  I haven't got time for this!

Grrrrrr..................

I did too and what I am doing is at top right corner of computer click on the 3dots or some do just right click then go to print but before you press print change or from shrink to fit to 50% saves a heck a lot of paper changing it. I think it's unfair that we can't do paper base as it was what I wanted but due to 24+ have do online but they should have this at the beginning saying online only if go through 24+ hope this helps even though it's a nightmare printing a load off xxx

I'm appalled as to why they say paper available and then it's not when you have applied for it

This link clearly says paper based available:
https://www.stonebridge.uk.com/course...
Very bad to say you can, then say you can't. I used to work for CAB - I will contact their consumer line to see if it's covered in consumer law. Clearly we've bought a service based on how it's described and being lied to.
Also when you convert to Word have you noticed how many spelling mistakes there are in the material! It seems a far shoddier service when paying £1250 with a 24+ loan than paying less than £400 yourself.

I've had a look through the 70 page Skills Funding Agency guidance. Although it says that the learning provider needs to send a quarterly return to confirm learners are progressing, from which learners use an online learning portal, there is nothing to say the learning has to be delivered online only. Nor does it say that the learning provider should say learning can be delivered paper based through the enrolment process, then say it can't!!

Thinking about it you can get 24+ funding for face to face at a brick college, so it's crazy Stonebridge use Skills Funding Agency as an excuse to have their website information regarding how the course is delivered as incorrect.

The document also states that the College should provide support for individual learning needs - well my individual learning need is for paper based!!!

I'm still going to check re consumer law - i.e. buying into a service that is not as described. The issue though could be that it is not us who have paid, but 24+ loans.

Even so, Stonebridge should not give the option for paper based if you can't.... At the very least there should be an easy print option. That way learners ARE accessing the website but are given the choice how to learn.

The internet has some good feedback on Stonebridge, but there is also a lot of bad, mainly to do with things like this.

UPDATE: Misrepresentation Act 1967.
I've done a bit of research and Stonebridge appear to be in breach of the above legislation by misleading people to believe they can receive the training paperbased.
I have decided to pull out from this course and college because I do not wish to be connected to one that flouts legislation, but not before telling them why and referring the matter to SFA and Ofsted. Over the phone SFA were not impressed. Stonebridge have now agreed to send me the material, but too late, only after I said I was pulling out.
So anyone wishing to stick to their guns and get the material paperbased then quoting the Misrepresentation Act 1967 may be the way forward. The more that tell them them , hopefully, the more likely they'll amend their policies.
Thank you to those who replied, good luck with your studies.

stonebridge have been reported before for misleading students in their discription of courses and their outcomes. some of the students on the social care course have complained and reported them. i have to say i have studied with stonebridge previously and never had an issue, however this time they have been awful and once im finished my current course will not be studying with them again.
