I was thinking if anyone is based in the North West preferably Lancashire/Greater Manchester could anyone help contacting local colleges or appropriate busy/safe/well known environents or within an organisation where students could practise counselling? I am having trouble finding a placement for voluntary work and would need to find this in order to get a place on the course, any ideas on voluntary work helpfull (as my local area have stated i would need to complete the level 3 to actually get voluntary work with them which i agree with)  I hace completed the introduction and level 1 counselling at my local college (with practical work) plus the counselling level 2 ABC award online and understand it is not a safe thing to do using family/friends to practise counselling skills on (well doesn't work for me anyway) also i wasn't even aware you could do this as i was told by a stonebridge advisor  it would have to be an placement within an organisation ( is this true as my last resort would to go ahead and use family) but i would feel more comfortable with students on the same level. Don't know if this is possible to do - fingers crossed it can be looked into but stonebridge said its upto me to find a placement and i'm struggling to find anything near me at the moment, so any suggestions in the meantime would be great!

I'm doing level 2 with Stonebridge and was never told to find a placement to get on the course. I'm planning to get one once finished with the course while doing my level 4

i've just done the level too aswell  but the advisor said i needed to secure my own placement yet reading through comments on here people have just practised on their /friends. Really want to do voluntary work within counselling anyway but know how strict it is to get into ( in my area anyway) just having the worst luck finding something just hope i hear something back soon as i want to do the level 3 to get into uni, can't go onto any other course as there is no funding available near me either.
