Hi i just wondered if anyone had made a group that the Child Psychology Students could get together (facebook) to discuss any issues or just to talk about the course ect. with other students on the same course, ive seen that other subjects have done this. If theres not one allready anyone think its a good idea, i ill make one if people like the idea and will join?

A great idea Sophie, I set one up for counselling, coaching and cbt - and it's great knowing there are people all in one place to help with study issues and problems :o)

I have totally lost my mojo for doing this course (rubbish really considering i'm only on ass 2) but I got told by someone that its not a nationally recognised course and it made me think why bother, so i need to moral support to get back into it! because I am stubborn and I will complete it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not sure, but I mentioned it to my CDSO (i'm a childminder) and she mentioned that I was doing the course to a fellow staff member who wants to do it, she asked someone to look into it and they said its not recognised as a level 4. I found this difficult to swallow considering in the course details it states they have an outside company to certificate it?!!! or something like that!

We see that some of you are concerned about the recognition of this course and hopefully we can clear this up for you.

This course has been accredited under our NCFE IIQ Licence and the course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 4 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved.

At the end of this course successful students will receive a Level 4 NCFE Award Certificate of Achievement. This award has been designed by Stonebridge Associated Colleges to meet specific learners' or employers' requirements.

Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.

Why not just keep all of the psychology related pupils together in one group - that way we can all learn from each other and have inputs from different types of coaches and therapists who may offer a fresh perspective.

Jodie created a CBT, Counselling and Coaching group quite recently @ http://www.facebook.com/groups/259232...

Ive just had a quick look through and i dont actually see anybody mentioning Child Psychology, although i do agree about the different types of coaches ect. would be a good. Maybe people in the group i set up could specifically talk about the course we are on, although i will join the suggested group also. I had asked whether there were any groups allready out there and nobody had mentioned any to me hence why i set the child Psychology group up.

I'm glad that people are still joining the group, I'm thinking off setting up some group activities on the Facebook page to see if we can get motivated. I have nearly been doing this course for 2 years, don't worry if your taking longer than expected that's what is great about Stonebridge no added pressure.
