I've just enrolled on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy course and was wondering whether anyone had any tips or advice or if anyone wanted to became study buddies? I always find it easier to learn when you can chat to others in the same boat! :)

Hi Charlene, I submitted assignment 2 yesterday and it was graded this morning - I passed :o). I'm really enjoying it too and looking forward to studying things in more depth. We're at pretty much the same place in the course which is nice - it's good to have someone to chat too :o) Good luck with assignment 2 :o)

Hi,

I'm studying the CBT course also. I'm on assignment 12 at the moment. I have been neglecting the course recently but I am starting to get back in to it.

Hi Mike,

I've just passed assignment 6 and am awaiting the questions for assignment 7 so I'm a little way behind you but hoping to pick up the pace again. Are you enjoying the course?

Hi Jo,

Well done for passing assignment 6, it looks like you are getting through them pretty quickly.

yes, I am enjoying the course, I have had a very hectic last 9 months and the CBT course has had to go on the 'back burner', but now I have more time to do it.

How do you find online study? I have only studied at college and find online more difficult because I am used to having people to discuss things with. I also find when I'm very bust it is too easy to put the CBT to one side since there are no deadlines.

Mike.

Hiya Mike,

I'm getting though it pretty quickly but have to wait for the assignments to be sent so that's slowing me down a bit!

I am enjoying the course but do wish there was more student interaction - I'm used to studying online/distance as I'm currently also doing a degree with the Open University but there are always lively Facebook groups for each course which is a great help. I agree with the deadline too - it is a positive in many ways but does mean that it can be pushed aside if other things get in the way.

I'd be happy to discuss things with you, if you'd like? I'm a little way behind but discussing the concepts and theories from previous lessons could be beneficial too - I find it's helpful to get different perspectives on things.

Take care,
Jo

Hi Tara,

Yes I'm on assignment 7 at the moment - I found the case study quite daunting but I think the key is not to over complicate it and use what you've learned in the lesson.

Hope this helps
:o)

Hi my name is Jo and I have literally just started the CBT course. Just reading through the first module. I work in mental health so have a reasonable idea about how CBT works, but it's not like actually learning it academically. Would like to join your group!

Hi, I've just enrolled on this course today, but will not be looking at starting my course until Jan, as I will be busy making Christmas presents this year. I would like to make friends with people on this course any time :)

Hello. I completed this course last year. Some of the questions at first did not always make sense but I found it helpful if I moved onto another question and when I went back to the previous one things became clearer. I found a lot of my information on the internet through research. I also found this helped me to understand the different aspect of the course.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and I will be more than happy to help, except to answer the questions of course! I passed this course with distinction.

Hi Gill,

I thought the course was simply a pass or fail, I didn't realise it had an overall grade.
Did you find any books to be particularly helpful?
