CBT Level 5

Hi everyone
I was wondering if anyone else is studying the Level 5 CBT course?
I've done the first three assignments and although it looks interesting the pathway of the course is a bit unexpected.
Firstly, the emphasis seems to be on life-coaching rather than counselling - not something I was expecting from the course blurb as CBT counselling is more what I want to learn.
Second, the course seems a bit jumbled in that the assignments so far have been about establishing ground rules for client sessions rather than any actual theory. Bit hard to know how to conduct the initial session without knowing the theory first!
There is also a preamble that talks about NOS standards being updated to incorporate elements of this course, which seems to have been written in 2007, which seems rather outdated now. I'm not sure how current the content is.
The first assignment was not marked within the 4-5 day range and I had to email the college about this - the other two I've submitted have so far not been marked yet.
Have to say I'm rather disappointed so far...

Hi Mark, I am currently on Ass 13 of this course. I am enjoying it, & find the material very interesting. It makes sense to me to learn basic counselling principles first on empathy, building rapport & how to create the right environment before going into the theory. You may find it a bit slow going if you want to get to all the juicy stuff straight away.
I am currently a trained & practising hypnotherapist with NLP & counselling qualifications. I think this course would be another skill to use with my clients although a lot of the course covers stuff that I would use already.
My assignments have all come back within a week. You have a module to study while you wait for the next question to come through so can't see why there would be a huge rush. However, I am perplexed as to why we only get a small comment on the marking sheet & my tutor doesn't actually correct or comment on anything in pen on my assignment itself. I feel that the tutor is not qualified in this subject. The comments are repetitive and I suspect are copied & pasted from a central comment bank?? I have even written questions incorrectly or incomplete, & still passed every question so far. I did make a comment to my tutor & emailed the college regarding this & have never had a reply from either. I do not feel that the college is supporting my learning, but just going through the motions of marking my work , then hopefully chucking me a certificate at the end. Regards
