Can someone please clarify a few issues for me?

I was told, before I signed up, that all the information I needed for the tests would be found in the textbook I would be sent.  This sounded great, but I have had my first assignment failed because I have only covered what was in the textbook.  I have been seeing the textbook as a lesson substitute as if I was in an actual college lecture I would be taking notes on what was being discussed, but this isn't enough apparently.

Am I not supposed to have a personal tutor assigned to me? It would be nice if the tutor I was assigned ever communicated with me.  I asked a question to her via email to which someone else replied, and I have been emailed today to remind me about my assignment deadline by yet another tutor.  I thought we were supposed to have a personal tutor - this sounds like a team!

Also, I submitted my first assignment a little early with the plan being to give myself more time for Assignment 2 with the Xmas period being slap bang in the middle of it.  I was horrified when I submitted my assignment to receive an amended ILP, slicing 2 weeks off the time I would have to do assignment 2!  This didn't really register with me before I got an email reminding me that it is due to be submitted tomorrow.  I don't feel this is very fair.

I feel the same about how they slice time off when you finish early! Like you, I started the course a month early to allow extra time when I need it, being a mum of three with a full time job as a TA you never know what might come up and get in the way of studies. I keep getting emails as I near deadlines saying that I am nearing my deadline that I agreed to and signed as per my learning agreement and I may loose funding if I don't meet my deadline. I feel this is very unfair as I only signed one agreement and I never gave permission for them to use my signature on other documents with different deadlines that I did not sign! (in any other situation this would be fraud on their part). I am sorry that I haven't been much help but this is something that I feel very annoyed about. As for the information being in the book, I was told that too. When I answer the assignments I use the information from the books and then add information about my own personal experiences. So far I had to add a little more detail in 2 questions from unit 1 before passing and have passed units 2, 3, 4 and 5 first time. I hope this helps.
